For the past few years now, as I have traveled, I have seen a wide array of people living on the streets. Tiny thai men living in tents on top of metals roofs down an ally in Bangkok , legless men in Antigua Guatemala who sweep the walk ways to former anthropology students who started out living on the street as a social experiment then ending up liking it.

This is a collection of men and women who I have interviewed over a nice lunch. I've always struggled with just giving money to these people, so I started taking these people out to lunch in exchange for an interview and some photos. Here is their story:

Sego- A breath of fresh air to the saturated Utah County scene. A weekend where local artists of all kinds can get together and share what makes them, them.

D-Rock

Derrick, to me, in this photo is the staple for a 50's country clubbin' player. Cologne in hand shakin' a little off on his wrists ready to get his swank on with all those lonely females lingering by the spiked fruit punch bowl. Knowing that with his sober mind and musk permeating the air his charm, coupled with some rum and hi-C is going to get him some lovin'.

Get your Swank on.

Coconut Bangers Ball- "It's a Rap"

Mog and his honey, in my opinion played off the best couple of the night. Probably due largely to the fact that they were the only one of our friends who were married at the time, but whatever.

Bluebird Cafe Sundance '08

The real deal. These are the guys who make people like Tim McGraw and all those faces in Nashville look good. This was at the Blue Bird Cafe at Sundance Resort in Utah. Every week three songwriters come and play. It's cool to see the real thing, the real people who are writing these songs and the real stories of where these songs come from.

The Black Cat hostel in Antigua

Insanity, pure insanity. This was a hostel we stayed at in Antigua, Guatemala. This can only accurately be described if you have see one of two movies, The first ninja turtles where you see the Shreaders hide out where there are all the boys running around doing whatever they want, smoking playing poker, all the oldest sins done in the newest ways. Or possibly Hansels loft in Zoolander, which is along the same lines of the Ninja Turtles. Be it one or the other it was an incredibly interesting Hostel.

This shot is of Seth Hanks relaxing after we got in from a 9 hours night bus ride from Flores.

The Little Alps

while working the other day at Sundance, I checked some guests in who were traveling from Switzerland. As we drove up and this little spectical loomed up before us i heard them gasp and say in a thick accent," We have never seen mountains like this beside our Mountain." Props go out to ol' Robert Redford for jumping all over this little plot of land.
